FanQ review: is it the best quiz maker for football fan polls?

Our verdict

FanQ is a managed fan-voting widget for German-speaking sports media, clubs and federations: its editors write dozens of football questions a day and the widget runs with sponsor and ad slots built in. It is not a quiz maker. We found no self-serve builder, no scored quizzes, no public pricing and no trial.

2.7/5 Best for: German sports publishers and clubs

Testing note: FanQ offers no free trial or self-serve access, so we could not test it hands-on ourselves. This review is based on publicly available information: FanQ’s own website (mostly in German), its solution, legal and privacy pages, and its consumer app listing, all checked October 1, 2026. We compare it with Pinpoll, Opinary and Monterosa.

What users say

FanQ user reviews at a glance

We found no public user reviews of FanQ on G2, Capterra or SourceForge (checked October 5, 2026). FanQ sells mainly through demos and direct contracts, so there is no user rating to show yet.

We check these sites monthly and will add ratings here once at least 5 reviews appear on one of them. These would be user ratings, not our score.

What is FanQ?

FanQ is a sports fan-voting service from FanQ GmbH in Cologne, Germany (source). Its main product is an embeddable voting widget for publishers, clubs, leagues and sponsors, focused on German football with some handball and basketball. FanQ’s editorial team writes 50 to 70 topical questions a day and plays them out automatically on partner sites and apps; partners named on its site include sport.de, fussballdaten.de, the German Handball Federation and the easyCredit BBL (source). FanQ also runs a consumer fan-voting app and sells fan research studies.

Key features

  • Voting formats: Topical polls, player-of-the-match votes and individual player ratings.
  • Content supplied: 50 to 70 new football questions a day from FanQ’s editors, or your own questions created in a backend.
  • Embedding: A responsive widget embedded by iframe or JavaScript on websites and in app webviews.
  • Monetization: Pre-roll and banner slots, programmatic ads, sponsor mentions and sponsored questions (source).
  • Lead capture and sharing: Email and newsletter sign-ups, for example combined with prize draws, and one-click export of results as social media graphics.

Ease of use and interface

FanQ is designed to run with almost no work on your side: you embed the widget once, FanQ supplies the questions and handles administration, and its team styles the widget from your brand guidelines. sport.de is quoted on FanQ’s site saying a question takes under a minute to create. There is no public sign-up, free account or demo, and design changes go through FanQ. We found no FanQ listings with user reviews on G2, Capterra or Trustpilot; the only public ratings are for its consumer app on Google Play (4.2 from 447 reviews).

Pricing and plans

FanQ does not publish prices, plans, a free plan or a trial. Each solution page lists a named contact person, and the widget’s business model relies on built-in sponsor and ad revenue. Checked October 1, 2026 on FanQ’s website.

Privacy and support

FanQ is a German company with an external data protection officer. Its website is hosted in Germany, and the widget keeps a light data footprint: it stores the chosen answer and a user ID hashed from the browser’s user agent, deleted four weeks after the poll ends, with assets loaded from Microsoft Azure (source). The privacy policy was last updated in 2023, and we found no public DPA template or security certificates. Support runs through a contact form (replies usually the next working day), email, phone and named account contacts; we found no help center.

Pros and cons

Pros
  • Daily football questions supplied by FanQ’s editors
  • Sponsor and ad slots built into the widget
  • References in German sports media and federations
  • Light, privacy-minded widget data model
Cons
  • No self-serve builder, scored quizzes or templates
  • No public pricing, free plan or trial
  • Narrow focus on German-language sport
  • No independent reviews and no named integrations

Final verdict

FanQ makes sense for German sports publishers, clubs and federations that want a hands-off, sponsor-funded fan-voting widget with fresh questions every day. It is not a quiz maker: there is no self-serve builder, no scored quizzes or personality tests, no public pricing and no trial to judge it by. As a quiz tool it earns 2.7/5; sports media that want to build their own quizzes and polls should compare Pinpoll or Riddle, and large rights-holders should look at Monterosa.
