Quiz makers with an API

Which of the 28 quiz makers we review have a documented API, what you can do with it, which plans include it, and links to every set of docs.

An API lets your own systems talk to a quiz tool without anyone clicking through an editor. We checked all 28 tools on this site for a documented public API on October 6, 2026 and linked the official docs wherever they exist.

Disclosure: Quiz Maker Review is run by the team behind Riddle and Qzzr. Both are checked with the same method and sources as every other tool on this page.

Why an API matters for serious users

For a one-off quiz, the editor is all you need. Once interactive content becomes part of how a business runs, the editor turns into a bottleneck. A publisher with hundreds of articles a week, a brand running quizzes in twelve markets, or a sports club with a poll for every match cannot build and maintain all of that by hand.

An API is what turns an interactive content tool from a nice widget into part of your infrastructure. It lets you:

  • Create content automatically: generate quizzes and polls from your CMS, product feed or match schedule instead of building each one by hand.
  • Keep data flowing: send leads and answers straight into your CRM, data warehouse or marketing automation, with no CSV exports.
  • Report your way: pull views, completions and answer stats into your own dashboards and BI tools next to the rest of your numbers.
  • Scale and stay consistent: update, tag, publish or retire content in bulk, and apply the same rules across teams and brands.
  • Avoid lock-in: your content and data stay reachable by your own code, not only through the vendor’s screens and its list of integrations.

Many tools offer webhooks or a Zapier connection instead. Those push data out when something happens, which is useful, but they cannot create or change content, and you are limited to what the vendor chose to expose. That is why we separate a real API from webhooks below. An API is also the foundation for AI assistants: see our MCP comparison for tools your AI assistant can use directly.

Our pick for API: Riddle

Riddle’s documented REST API covers the whole lifecycle: the Builder API creates and edits every Riddle type, the Manage API publishes, embeds, tags and deletes and returns leads, the Stats API reports per Riddle, project or account, and further APIs handle AI generation and question banks. The Builder and Stats APIs need a Business or Enterprise plan, with no separate API fee. Qzzr has no API; teams that need one use Riddle. Read our Riddle review.

Quiz makers without an API

We found no public API documentation for these 8 tools: Qzzr, Interact, LeadQuizzes, Quiz-maker.com, Wayground, Happy Contests, Opinary, FanQ. Qzzr has no API by design; its sister product Riddle covers API use. For the others, “none found” means nothing on the vendor’s own sites, not a confirmed no; enterprise customers may get private interfaces. Wayground blocks automated checks, so its entry is unverified.

How we checked

We read each vendor’s developer docs, help articles and pricing pages on October 6, 2026, and only list what they state. Each review has its own “API access” section with a link to the docs, and we recheck every week as part of our pricing check.
