Monterosa review: is it the best quiz maker for sports and live fan engagement?

Our verdict

Monterosa is an enterprise fan engagement platform that runs live polls, predictors, trivia, fantasy games and loyalty for leagues, broadcasters and sportsbooks, at a scale few tools can match. It is not a quiz maker you sign up for: there is no public pricing, no self-serve trial, and getting value means an integration project with your apps and data stack.

3.6/5 Best for: sports rights-holders and broadcasters

Testing note: Monterosa offers no free trial or self-serve access (test access is only granted after a sales conversation), so we could not test it hands-on ourselves. This review is based on publicly available information: Monterosa’s own product pages, public documentation, buyer FAQ, privacy and support pages, press releases and its AWS Marketplace listing, all checked October 1, 2026. We compare it with Qualifio, Pinpoll and FanQ.

What users say

Monterosa user reviews at a glance

We found no public user reviews of Monterosa on G2, Capterra or SourceForge (checked October 5, 2026). Monterosa sells mainly through demos and direct contracts, so there is no user rating to show yet.

We check these sites monthly and will add ratings here once at least 5 reviews appear on one of them. These would be user ratings, not our score.

What is Monterosa?

Monterosa is a UK company (Monterosa Productions Limited, headquartered in Liverpool) whose Interaction Cloud platform powers real-time fan experiences in apps, websites, connected TV, venues and broadcast graphics. Customers named on its site include the Premier League, NBA, MLB, the Bundesliga, ITV, Liverpool FC and Formula E (source). It is sold as a data and conversion layer: fan interactions feed the customer’s CRM or data platform and support ticket, merchandise and loyalty goals.

Key features

  • Interactive elements: Polls and voting, predictors, trivia, quizzes, series predictors, multi-raters, sports statistics and gamification, combined into event centers, prediction games and competitions (source).
  • Live operation: A Studio timeline for publishing elements manually or on timecode during live events, with live stats and result-reveal controls.
  • Scale: Load-tested to more than a million concurrent users; Monterosa reports 100 million interactions in three days for a NASCAR bracket game (source).
  • Developer tooling: iOS, Android and JavaScript SDKs, a React framework, REST APIs, webhooks and an MCP server (source).
  • Data and identity: Audience profiles sent to a data warehouse or CDP, SSO with providers such as Auth0, Okta and Amazon Cognito, and consent-management integration.
  • More products: Fantasy games, a loyalty layer and AI content suggestions (“Mica”) that a human approves before they go live.

Ease of use and interface

Monterosa has two ways to build: a no-code web Studio where editors add elements to an event timeline, and a developer route with SDKs and APIs for custom interfaces. Monterosa says one or two video training sessions are usually enough for editors (source). The heavy lifting comes before that: data feeds, identity, consent and analytics are scoped and integrated during onboarding. We found no independent user reviews to check its ease of use; the G2 listing has none yet.

Pricing and plans

Monterosa does not publish prices. It sells a SaaS subscription with included hosting and support, plus implementation services on some plans, billed on monthly active users and monthly interacting users. There is no free plan and no self-serve trial: qualified prospects may get time-limited access to a test environment after a sales call, and public proofs of concept are paid (source). The platform is also listed on AWS Marketplace with 12, 24 and 36-month contracts at private pricing. Checked October 1, 2026.

Privacy and support

By default, Monterosa hosts on AWS in Dublin, with a North American instance for US customers (source). Its privacy policy references UK GDPR and data processing agreements. Its documentation states ISO 27001 certification, but the certificate details shown there list an expiry in March 2025, so ask for the current certificate. Support runs through a ticket portal, phone and WhatsApp during UK business hours, with 24/7 cover that you pre-book for live events and a dedicated account manager for long-term customers (source).

Pros and cons

Pros
  • Proven at very large live scale with major sports brands
  • Broad formats: polls, predictors, trivia, fantasy and loyalty
  • SDKs, APIs and data integrations for your own apps
  • EU hosting by default and dedicated account managers
Cons
  • No public pricing, free plan or self-serve trial
  • Needs an integration project before you see value
  • No independent user reviews to check
  • Overkill for marketers who just need a quiz

What’s new in 2026

Recent product updates from Monterosa, last checked October 1, 2026:

  • September 2026: A partner developer program for game studios, plus Gamestage AI, a skill for coding agents such as Claude Code to build on the platform (source).
  • September 2026: A partnership with the England and Wales Cricket Board and the launch of Monterosa Fantasy (source).
  • March 2026: San Jose Sports Authority launched a city-wide fan engagement and loyalty app built on Monterosa (source).

Final verdict

For leagues, clubs, broadcasters and sportsbooks that need live polls, predictors and trivia inside their own apps and broadcasts at very large scale, Monterosa is one of the most capable platforms available. As a quiz maker for everyone else it is hard to recommend: there are no public prices or trial, setup is a project, and there are no independent reviews to check. For live fan engagement it earns 3.6/5; for self-serve quizzes and polls you can embed the same day, look at Riddle, Interact or Mentimeter for live events.
